I loved studying history as a kid and something I noticed is whenever America gets on its extra conservative swing, the gov/media here become isolationalist (except for wars & immigrant exploitation of course) Suddenly, there’s all this “America 1st” talk. Repeats in US history

But Black ppl, we don’t get like that at our best. The civil rights thinkers and philosophers we like to revere weren’t isolationalist. They were global thinking. They cared about & supported the global diaspora’s struggle b/c they understood everything is connected

It’s very white, esp white conservative, thinking to be all “America 1st”. This country isn’t even legitimate. It’s built on Native land and Black & Native blood Yes be proud in your Blackness & our ethnicity as Black american, but be wary of white supremacist thinking

I don’t know everything myself, but it’s about prioritizing our global freedom the way white supremacy priorities our global oppression White supremacy is leading us to focus on all the wrong stuff and it’s literally killing us

Folks in my mentions talking about “we’re all alone in this as BAs” No. That’s what white supremacy tells Black ppl all around the world so we focus only on the fake borders & nations they created. We, Black ppl, have each other. We need each other to defeat this global threat

The way an abuser keeps their victim isolated from others to block solidarity = US actively creates & encourages division in the diaspora Life is so hard & traumatic we are pushed into survival mode Affecting our ability think & connect so we are told how to feel & who to blame

Meanwhile whole countries are collaborating to make money off of our sickness, genocides, wars, etc And we are encouraged to fight amongst each other & divide ourselves into easily contained, governable pockets who automatically distrust each other

I don’t want to be right about yet another horrible thing, but the way we will look back at ADOS/FBA as part of a psyop to get Black americans on board and enthusiastic about this wave of fascism It feels like I’m watching history books and documentaries in real time

“The problem is threatening billions in damage to home appliances and aging power equipment” AI can cause electrical fires in our appliances/homes If you live near a data center or live in a city with multiple data centers, the risk increases

AI is taking our clean water, causing appliance fires, causing power surges in poor communities, feeding slave labor/work exploitation AND NOW it’s poisoning our air (And that’s not including that we already have air issues with fires throughout the year and airborne viruses)

Wait a minute. Attorney General Andrew Cuomo waved swayed his investigation during Paterson’s scandals AND he and the GOP mayoral candidate are basically in-laws. He’s the step-father to Sliwa’s son and Paterson and Sliwa did a podcast episode together These are his friends

The move is to intentionally reduce using it as much as possible while pressuring politicians and companies to make changes Boycott, bother politicians etc The answer isn’t do nothing when it’s exploiting people internationally, poisoning the air in Memphis, etc

It’s normal to feel overwhelmed by a big problem It makes sense to fawn But recognize the fawning for what it is & don’t let it guide you into learned helplessness and/or inaction You can learn how to intentionally regulate out of that survival response with time & practice

It really is blowing my mind that I’m seeing more & more people fawning & saying there’s nothing to be done about AI & it’s too late It’s sad how easy it’s been for the gov & corporations to trigger learned helplessness in people But it’s fine, you can turn that off & stand up
