Three days in to a government-directed shutdown, the #Internet in #Bangladesh remains almost completely offline. Almost no address space is being announced by ISPs in the country. Interestingly, both latency and bandwidth improved in the 24 hours before connectivity was lost.

In democracies, people write laws and appoint judges through their representatives. Brazil is a democracy I don’t live it, but their judges are held accountable in their own system. If Twitter wants to operate in a democracy, they are beholden to the rules of the people.

New York Times vs United States (1971) and Bartnicki v. Vopper (2001) has settled this as a matter of case law that this lands squarely as a first amendment issue.
