Flashback to 10 years ago - my first conference talk for the LHCb experiment

I passed by my old UoM Particle Physics office at CERN today. I think the door sign needs a refresh! How many of those people are still in the group? I count 6/29. In fairness a lot has happened since late 2019...

I had a great time yesterday evening at the Physics Astro @ Edin 3 Minute Thesis competition. Six PhD students from the School and four judges from across the research spectrum. We were at the historic Anatomy LT (formerly home of Burke and Hare antics). Also, elephants!

I'm at the Lepton-Photon conference in Madison, WI, this week. Among a great group of physicists there are three textbook legends: Michael Peskin, Francis Halzen, and Mark Thomson. I should have brought my book copies to get them autographed 📕😎

I did this once! A nice person at the American Airlines desk rebooked me at no cost onto a different flight (from the airport I'd mistakenly arrived at). Normalise arriving at the wrong airport!
