Have you ever wondered how much work can be offloaded from quantum computers when simulating an expectation landscape of a parametrized quantum circuit🤔? In our new work “Efficient quantum-enhanced classical simulation for patches of quantum landscapes” we tackle this question.

New paper on quantum-enhanced classical simulation! ⚛️💻 Check out Ricard Puig's thread 🧵on how you can get away with spending a lot less quantum resources if you have fast and provably efficient classical simulation patching everything together.

In the spirit of friendly academic shit posting... (Or because we lack imagination?) We used another IBM experiment to benchmark our small-angle Pauli propagation alg. This time: arXiv:2404.08053 Manuel Rudolph's plot below is for TFI on 127 qubits in a heavy hex topology

Submit to our special issue of IOP QS&T! We’re broadly after: 🔎 Careful non-hyped analyses on the state of Variational Quantum Computing (benchmarks, resource analyses etc) & ☀️ Big new (maybe half-baked!) ideas about how to combine quantum and variational components

Just released two papers on classical simulation of quantum circuits with arbitrary local noise! Huge thanks to my collaborators Victor Martinez, Antonio Anna Mele, Manuel Rudolph, Ekaterina Pankovets, Omar Fawzi, Marco Cerezo, Daniel Stilck França & Zoe Holmes! 🧵👇

Another amazing paper from our Summer School student Antonio Anna Mele (is that 3 papers already form the school?!), and from our collaboration with the power house that are Armando Angrisani and Manuel Rudolph from Zoe Holmes 's incredible group. arxiv.org/abs/2501.13101

It should be considered disrespectful to waste everyone's time by giving a talk that is super difficult to follow and basically unintelligible to anyone in the room who doesn't work on the exact topic being discussed. There is a perverse incentive to deliver unintelligible talks

New paper on arxiv 🔥We present a unifying characterization of “patches” in BP landscapes with substantial gradients for a broad family of circuits including physically motivated ansatz that could not be analyzed before ! scirate.com/arxiv/2502.078…
