Sufi Hidayah, a young Kashmiri female journalist, was heckled by protesting doctors at SMHS. Other journalists were also obstructed from reporting at the public hospital. Whether the protest was justified or not, intimidating the press has become alarmingly routine.

Kashmir does not need journalists or social media to know what happens in hospitals. Every ordinary Kashmiri has lived this reality. Don’t defend, attack, or deflect; what unfolded at SMHS repeated at Doda today. This pattern will persist unless met with accountability.
