My new artist website is almost ready to launch!!! Reminds of the feel of working on my MySpace page. Today I got automated file resizing working so I just upload hi res images, audio, and video and I’ll get smaller file sizes so the pages load super fast. Shout out to FFmpeg

Aside from the fact that I lowkey enjoy coding, the main reason I’m making my own website is I’m kinda done being beholden to these platforms man. They’re good for discovery and networking of course but I kinda wanna have more control over my stuff.

And maybe it’s overkill, but I don’t wanna even be tied to a single hosting platform. So I built my entire site inside of a Docker container so I can deploy it anywhere. Could even self host it on bare metal one day if it came to that. So yeah, not even depending on the cloud.
