MFD and PFD would like to remind residents that open air burning is allowed for recreational fires from 4pm to midnight only. Burning of construction materials and other materials is not allowed at anytime. Permits are required for all open air burning.

Overnight PFD responded to a partial downtown building collapse on Main St. Currently no injuries reported. A portion of Main St. will remain closed. Please avoid the area. Thank you to Barrie Fire technical rescue crew for providing assistance. More information to follow.

As firefighters across the country, mark the 20th Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial, today is a day that all FF's honour the almost 1900 fire service members who sacrificed their lives for their communities.

We would like to wish a happy and healthy retirement to Captain Tim Stewart after an incredible 44 years of dedicated service to the Penetanguishene Fire Department. Captain Stewart is the longest serving member in PFD history! Congratulations on your well deserved retirement!

The last information session for our volunteer Firefighter recruitment is this Saturday at 9am at the Midland Fire Station.

It was an honour and privilege to attend the Town of Penetanguishene's recognition of Captain Stewart's 44 years of service with PFD. Combined, the three of us have 113 years in the fire service and combined 99 years of service to the Town of Penetanguishene and PFD.

This week Town Staff, Members of Council, family and fellow PFD members gathered to honour retired Captain Tim Stewart as he received the 2023 Award of Excellence, Outstanding Service Recognition Program and name on the Wall of Excellence. Congratulations Captain Stewart!
