FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR! 🏀 Burke County HS Freshman guard, De’Quayvian Lovette, was named the Class AA “Freshman of the Year” by the GHSA. Recipients of the Class AA awards came from all over the state, so it is a big honor to receive for anyone, but especially a freshman!

Upstate mourns the passing of former USC Upstate Men's Basketball assistant coach Stacey Palmore. Our condolences are with his son Jaden, his family, and loved ones. Palmore was an assistant with the Spartans from 2018 to 2022 under head coach Dave Dickerson.

Dequavian Lovette, 6’2” CG for Burke County HS (GA) is a pure scoring guard. Dropped 32 in his matchup with Archer while adding 6 assists & 5 steals in front of several college coaches. Bigtime sleeper prospect in the 2028 class. Expect the name to rise up recruiting boards.
