Being suicidal is a lot like being a sober alcoholic. I never stop becoming suicidal, I just dry out and fight to maintain my sobriety. Right now feels like the equivalent of being gifted a bottle of wine and staring it down in a half-lit kitchen, but with taking my life.

Oscars post incoming. Sorry I know there’s more important stuff happening. Treating this as inevitable is a self-fulfilling prophecy. β€œThere is still time” etc. If u think TV GLOW deserves to be an awards contender shout loudly about it and maybe the establishment will listen!

I can’t think of anything more appropriate for this moment of shared grief over the loss of David Lynch than his Log Lady introductions. Catherine Coulson said it best: β€œOne day, the sadness will end.”

The gritty fiction of Frank Norris β€” born #onthisday in 1870 β€” speaks of the everyday violence of modernity. spalding gay explores how this focus, combined with his unique approach to storytelling, helped to pave the way for a truly filmic style: buff.ly/2TmXqHq #OTD
