New work in Preventative Medicine from Jilli Jung and Andrew Fenelon shows how later school start times initially had a positive effect on adolescents' sleep duration and substance use, though effects disappeared one year later. doi.org/10.1016/j.ypme…
Happy to share my work with Andrew Fenelon on the effects of late school start times on students' sleep and substance use! Using policy variation in Korea, we found that delayed start times are initially associated with increased sleep duration and decreased substance use.
