One of the most powerful sessions I’ve *ever* seen at a conference. Drs Sharon Lambert, Catriona O’Toole & Katriona O’Sullivan discussing frankly & honestly the lived experience of trauma & the challenges of coming from a diverse background. Incredible stuff #PSIConf23

Sharon pointed out that inclusion can be messy, diverse speaking and verbal ability patterns must be considered. Katriona reminded attendees they may have members of a minority group in the room without knowing. Both had encountered biases within their profession. #PSIconf23

The panel finished with calls for reflection. Sharon encouraged psychologists to question whether their workplace is good enough for a family member. Katriona wants to see meaningful change in access to psychology. Caitriona reminded psychologists to centre humanity. #PSIconf23
