Shades was hanging out with Mrs. Figueroa and her family to celebrate the Fourth of July! He had to take his glasses off at night to see the fireworks!💙

Shades was hanging out with Mrs. Figueroa and her family at Muir Wood National Park in California…he’s a long way from PS 188Q. He’s also going to cheer on New York Mets tonight at Oracle Park. Stay tuned for more adventures! District 26

Commonpoint at PS 188 went around the world celebrating the cultures of our diverse community and beyond. Students explored their neighborhoods, shared what they love about who they are, where they come from, and where they live. A beautiful celebration of identity and belonging!

Shades enjoyed a a day in Yosemite National Park with Mrs. Figueroa and her family today. The pictures do not do these amazing sites justice! Tomorrow they are going to enjoy the more sites in San Francisco and watch the New York Mets at Oracle Park! Stay tuned! District 26

Shades is at SFGiants stadium watching the New York Mets on a great Sunday afternoon in San Francisco with Mrs. Figueroa and her family on their vacation to San Francisco!!! District 26

🚨 New NYC Public Schools Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy! 📲 State law now requires that smartphones and other personal internet-enabled devices like smartwatches cannot be used on school grounds during the school day.

Be sure to join us for a Summer Playdate hosted by our PTA on August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. in our small school yard.

As required by state law, students will not be allowed to use personal internet-enabled devices—such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smartwatches—during the school day beginning in the 2025–26 school year.

I am excited to welcome Monique Paniagua as the new District 26 Deputy Superintendent of District 26! Her leadership, heart, and commitment to students and families will be a tremendous asset to our schools. Let’s get to work!

A creative start to the day at PS 188 as we observed a 2nd grader busy building a full restaurant out of Legos this morning. Love seeing imagination in action!
