On 6th November 2024, Safety First Wales officially launched at the Senedd, sponsored by Mabon ap Gwynfor, marking a significant milestone in advocating for the rights and safety of sex workers.

Speakers included representatives from the Street Workers Collective Ireland, Women Against Rape, Global Women Against Deportations, Amnesty UK, English Collective of Prostitutes ♀️ 🏳️‍⚧️ and Leanne Wood 💚💛

Poverty pushes many into sex work, only for the state to punish them for trying to get by. We must tackle poverty, repeal laws endangering sex workers, and remove cautions and convictions from their records. I spoke on BBC Woman's Hour about why decriminalisation is long overdue:

Yesterday, Scotland For Decrim protested outside Scottish Parliament to demonstrate sex workers opposition to the proposed introduction of the Nordic Model in Scotland. Nordic Model laws force us to work in isolation, in areas far from public view and w/o our colleagues. (1/7)
