Did you know? Precursor conditions are early blood conditions that may or may not develop into cancers such as Lymphoma, Leukemia, Waldenström's Macroglobulinemia, and Multiple Myeloma. Multiple myeloma is blood cancer found in the bone marrow.

Did you know? Most people with precursor conditions typically do not experience symptoms. Since doctors rarely screen for them, precursor conditions are often never detected until they have progressed to a more advanced stage.

At the Ghobrial Lab retreat, Dr.Ghobrial & Dr.Khoury discussed the prevalence of monoclonal gammopathies & clinical outcomes screened by mass spectrometry. This new technology, quantitative MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry, defines better outcomes for precursor conditions to Myeloma.
