🧵Lt Col Merritt VC, was the Battalion Commander of The South Saskatchewan Regiment during the Raid at Dieppe. His Battalion was slated to land at Green Beach near Pourville early in the morning on the 19th of August 1942.

Major Frederick Tilston - Essex Scottish Regiment

Awarded the VC actions on 1 Mar 45. Destroyed enemy MG and led his men in hand to hand combat to clear 2nd trench, then made 6 trips for ammo. Wounded 3 times, he continued to organize the defence of his Coy refusing medical help

Awarded the VC for his actions in Burma on 16 Feb 44. Wounded twice in the leg and head, he charged uphill leading his Coy while firing a BREN from the hip. Reaching the MG position he killed all the EN before being mortally wounded.
