Anyone listening to #Screenshot on BBC Radio 4 just now who hasn’t seen Sorcerer, there’s a high quality transfer youtu.be/3pP6HPfc0Ww?si…. I think Wages of Fear is one of best films ever made but with Mark Kermode here. This is superb. Friedkin, Scheider & Tangerine Dream!

Another part of the soundtrack of my childhood gone. I call our street Festive road when at appears lively and populated with characters.

Tune in to BBC One on Friday as we mark 80 years since victory over Japan, the moment the Second World War finally came to an end. We are honoured to host the national commemoration at the National Memorial Arboretum, and will be joined by veterans who served in the Far East. #VJDay80 1/2

Planning itinerary for return to Dien Bien Phu. Dry-run at being a battlefield guide there this time. That's French commander de Castries surrendering to Giap's Viet Minh forces on 7 May 1954 as depicted on stunning panorama in museum where last year I met a VM artillery veteran.

That handsome devil Terence Stamp has left us. So much great work but l guess always remembered as Sergeant Troy. Priscilla though was a stunning late career performance. I was once seated at the table next to his in a London restaurant & could barely eat because as so excited.

Just watched first episode of Alien Earth (I’ve been waiting for them to get here since 1979) and it struck me how influential a certain scene from Wrath of Khan has been over the years.

Remember when TV showed a movie as tribute to deceased actor? Feeling need for Terence Stamp. Audit of house DVDs: Priscilla, Limey, Madding Crowd, Conspiracy of Wolves & Valkyrie. Think I’d go for The Collector though. Would invite you round but they might not be your choice.
