So important to acknowldege and witness what happened to families and new mothers in the pandemic. Thanks to those at the event today for sharing your stories. We mustn't compromise on demanding better for all women who are also mothers

Such an important topic. Thank you Hannah Barnes. Urgent need for debate on mismatch betw birth prep & statistical likelihood of interventions/c-section + under-resourced services. Unfolding first-time motherhood experiences & vital questions here: cambridge.org/core/books/mot…

Are expectations about modern motherhood out of control? Pleased my research has been helpful in this important piece: thenewfeminist.co.uk/2024/04/a-firs… Natasha Mauthner @PregnantScrewed @OxfordBrookes @Hannahsbee

Great to be joining this event. So much emphasis for women who are pregnant to eat only 'what is allowed', adding more pressure to the impending demands of motherhood and ideas this must be 'got right'.

In contrast to study 21 yrs ago, most births in my new study “involved forceps and/or c-sections and cumulatively/viscerally remind us of the brutality of aspects of birth (pge 61). Huge implications for recovery in p/n period too. See: cambridge.org/core/books/mot… Rosie Duffield MP

In so many ways, across their lives boys & men demonstrate a capacity to #care for others - sometimes in ways we might not expect. Now more than ever, it's so important that we lean into & nurture this, as Tina Miller expressed powerfully on #NowandMen now-and-men.captivate.fm/episode/parent…
