Whilst I was in England, I visited Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. Much of it is in ruins but it's still impressive. Founded in the 1120s, it played an important role in UK history until the mid 1600s, when it was slighted on the orders of Parliament. It's well worth a visit.

Have you ever done a Camino de Santiago? Analysis of remains from Santiago de Compostela suggests they belong to the pilgrimage's founder, Bishop Teodomiro of Iria-Flavia. This makes him the oldest identified historical figure in Spain #MedievalMonday 🆓 buff.ly/3zcUvso

Last night, Nicole Collard 🧬🏺🪬 and I went to see my favourite female artist, PJ Harvey, in concert, at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. What a show. I was expecting the music to be fantastic, but hadn’t anticipated Polly being so dynamic and theatrical in her delivery. Very absorbing.

Good point. I think it’s one of the main reasons why archaeologists tend to view the lives of people in the distant past—especially people in the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic—as dominated by economic concerns. It’s a legit unconscious bias.
