Excited to expand my research efforts through a new collaborative project with Jennifer Nichols, which merges #MachineLearning and #Biomechanics to advance musculoskeletal hand models!
Congratulations to my PhD student Ayobami S. Edun for winning this award!! Extremely well deserved! Ayobami is an outstanding scholar and a dedicated member of the ECE / UF / Gainesville community (he does a lot!!). Happy UF Engineering & @globalgators recognizes his efforts!
Honored to be selected for the UF Engineering 2020-21 Undergraduate Teacher of the Year! And especially thank you to all of the students in ECE Florida's Signals&Systems and DSP that make the teaching fun! The students are one of the most rewarding parts of the job! #Teaching
Congratulations to Ayobami Edun, ECE PhD student working with Prof. Joel B. Harley, who does indeed exemplify the attribute of service. Ayobami's service to the department spans years and is impossible to fully describe here. Congratulations!
. Prof. Joel B. Harley is embarking on a unique collaboration with Douglas Spearot from UF MAE —using a @UFInformatics Institute Seed Fund Program grant to better understand how a high entropy alloy (HEA) works on an atomic level. More at the link: ow.ly/PMjR50FiAM3
Today is Day 1 of our free two-week #AI course for high school students, in collaboration with Dr. Bobda's SmartSystems Lab and organized by my Ph.D. and MS students in ECE Florida. We started by introducing the students to the classic Dr. Nim puzzle! It will be a fun 2 weeks!
Congratulations to my PhD student Daniel Alabi on being selected as a 2021-2022 #STEM ChateaubriandProgram Fellow to work alongside our non-destructive evaluation #NDE colleagues at CEA-LIST in France to study new electromagnetic evaluation technologies for concrete.
Congrats to my student Ayobami S. Edun for all of his amazing accomplishments as a graduate student!! I could not have asked for a better mentee and collaborator!
ECE Manager of Academic Support Services Shannon Chillingworth is the recipient of the 2022 UF Engineering Staff Award for Excellence in Leadership. Shannon is being recognized for her efforts supporting the mental health & wellness of (in particular) our grad students.
.Alina Zare Prof. Joel B. Harley & collaborators from UF/IFAS are working to develop #AI systems to more accurately measure the benefits to climate change mitigation provided by ecosystem services. $2M project will aid policy makers and land managers. More: go.ufl.edu/q7kwd5r
Looking forward to sharing our work at NACOB this week and collecting data through the Participant Research Study! Check out our talks. Many represent collaborations between UF BME, ECE Florida (SmartData Lab UF, Prof. Joel B. Harley), UF Orthopaedics, & UF Health Sports Performance. #biomechanics #AI
A successful first data collection to train our #AI system to measure Florida ecosystem services in #agriculture! Project w/ Alina Zare, José Dubeux, @l_zotarelli in UF Engineering and UF/IFAS Thanks to Usher Land and Timber for hosting the team and allowing us to collect data!
