Brilliant performance of Blood Brothers Riddlesdown Collegiate tonight. Amazingly talented KS3 students - I feel very proud and am delighted to see the work of our thriving Drama team 👏 🎭

I have big shoes to fill, but am looking forward to leading the wonderful teams and communities that make The Collegiate Trust. I will similarly hand over this account to my talented successor, Katie Turner, who takes over as Principal Riddlesdown Collegiate in September.

It’s going to be hot ☀️ this coming week, so students do not need to wear blazers or ties until further notice. Other uniform must still be worn smartly - shirts tucked in, skirts at proper length, regular school shoes etc. Remember water bottles and sunscreen, as well!

Culture Day in College VI today - a day of education, celebration and looking fabulous! 🌎

It’s hot - and going to get hotter! 🥵 We have already postponed Sports Day, but with the very high temperatures now forecast for the early part of next week, we shall update parents over the weekend over any changes to our operation☀️

Due to the red weather warning, we will move to Remote Learning for all students in Years 7-10 for Monday and Tuesday. College VI Induction will go ahead, as planned. Full details will be sent to parents/carers tomorrow.

It looks set to be at least 10 degrees cooler tomorrow. After two days of remote learning, we look forward to seeing all Years 7-10 students back at the Collegiate at 8.30am. Blazers and ties are not required.

Mr Smith’s impact on our school, our Trust, our borough and beyond is immeasurable. He will be greatly missed and we shall always be grateful for his leadership and commitment to delivering an exceptional education for all. Happy retirement, Gordon.

This evening, we celebrated Soumick Dey Mr Gordon Smith’s amazing 33 year career in teaching, thanked him for his service and wished him a very happy retirement. A special moment for Riddlesdown Collegiate and The Collegiate Trust.

We also unveiled this excellent portrait of Mr Smith, painted by former student, Kerry Collison. It shall now be displayed with the portraits of his predecessors in the Main Hall Riddlesdown Collegiate.

Being Principal Riddlesdown Collegiate has been an absolute privilege. I am so proud of our school, our students and our team. Thank you to everyone for making my “last day” special.

Thank you, Kerry - great to see you using your talents. I will feel proud to see these portraits together with our three predecessors Riddlesdown Collegiate and look forward to supporting our new (and first female) Principal, Mrs Katie Turner, in September.
