The exhibition 'Light, Colour, and the Cosmology of Pigment: work and research of the School of Traditional Arts and its alumni' at the Garrison Chapel will be open this coming Saturday 24th August from 11am - 4pm, and closed on Bank Holiday Monday 26 August.

Lily Corbett Gale will be demonstrating the use of pigments with egg tempera on gessoed paper and is happy to talk about colour harmony, based on Cecil Collins' teachings, for the drop-in session from Saturday 24th - 30th August, full day on 24th and 11:30 - 13:00 on other dates.

On Friday 23rd Aug from 14:00 - 15:30 at the Garrison Chapel, Ubaydullah Ahmad Ubaydullah Ahmad, a calligrapher and graduate of the school, will demonstrate a range of early Kufic manuscript scripts and Maghribi scripts using traditional inks made from natural pigments.

Our recent alumni, @hira_kamil14, will be demonstrating at the next drop-in session on the techniques of Mughal miniature painting, using a fine squirrel brush and pigments to create delicate details, on the 22nd and 29th August from 14:00 - 15:30 at the Garrison Chapel.

Coming up on 27th and 28th August at the Garrison Chapel, 14:00 - 15:30, AmnaFraz will be sharing her technique of using egg tempera with pigments from Pakistan to create delicate painting of flowers.

Our final demonstration line up at the Garrison Chapel will be with @aurelie_gerardin on Friday 30th August from 11:30 - 13:30. She will demonstrate paper preparation techniques and using a squirrel-hair brush and walnut ink to paint an image inspired by the Siyah Qalam tradition
