I'm devastated to tell you that after 4 days of intensive care & monitoring, precious Winnie has been euthanised.
She wasn’t responding to her treatment, her pain was not easing. This poor out in the day baby was just too far gone. RIP precious Winnie your suffering is now over.

Poor Winney, found out in the day by 2 wonderful boys walking home from school. How Winney survived the winter just amazes me. She’s emaciated, dehydrated & suffering from lungworm, fluke & roundworm. She’s in pain and very sick, we are praying for this precious baby #hedgehog

Easter is traditionally the time folks decide to go out and 'tackle the garden'.
(As if that wonderful little piece of nature is an enemy that needs dominating).
And Easter is traditionally the time that all wildlife rescues dread, as they are overwelmed by devastated people…

It was lovely to see 2 of my garden visitors eating & drinking together last wk. There are lots of hungry hedgehogs rising from hibernation, so please (if you can), provide food (meat based kitten biscuits are great) & water. It really will help to save a life #hedgehog

Meet precious Poppy, this poor girl is suffering from coccidia & roundworm, as well as mange & ringworm. Poppy’s treatment is underway & she’ll definitely be feeling the benefits after her medication today & her 1st of 4 medicated (Imaverol) ringworm baths. #hedgehogs

Precious Rapha had his final treatment yesterday & he’s ready for release. This gorgeous boy is clear of those nasty parasites that would’ve killed him & his breathing is now silent. He’s fighting fit & we’re so happy for him. Good luck darling Rapha, we’ll miss you #hedgehog

Precious Diezel finished his treatment this morning, and he’s now tucked up in his riverside house and ready for release. He’s been unsettled for the past few days and is so ready to be free - Good luck beautiful boy, we’re going to miss you ❤️🦔❤️ #hedgehog

What a difference a wk makes. Darling Barnaby is unrecognisable from the collapsed, covered in ticks, out in the day baby who needed fluids for three days to keep him alive. Now stable & responding well to his treatment Barnaby had his 1st (of 4) ringworm baths today. #Hedgehogs

Rat traps cause the most horrendous injuries/death to hedgehogs (& rats). Vera was a regular visitor in her lovely finders garden, they noticed she had a leg missing. Sadly Vera was put to sleep today, the vet said her injuries were possibly caused by a rat trap 😢 #devastating

Whilst cleaning the hospital, I heard the most dreadful coughing coming from under the step (between our house & the hospital). When we investigated it was precious Mia an x-patient. This poor baby also has roundworm, ringworm & mange. Thankfully she came home for treatment ❤️🦔

This poor sweet boy is Barnaby, found out in the day by a lovely ‘postie’ called Lucy, she wouldn’t walk past this dying baby. Barnaby’s very weak & dehydrated & has a small wound on his head. He’s had antibiotics & emergency fluids, he’ll then be assessed for internal parasites.

We waited for darling Dexters chest infection to clear before we started his Imaverol (Ringworm) baths. Today he had his 2nd bath, and oh what a good boy he was. He’s doing well, just one more week of treatment and we’ll be getting this precious boy ready for release. #hedgehog
