Our very own @alexa_pichetb has brilliantly defended her PhD thesis! Alexa has been instrumental in the centre’s work in the last 5 years. We look forward to her post-doc with Oskar Hansson and the BioFINDER. Congratulations Dr. Pichet Binette!

You can access more of the PREVENT-AD data openly! A lot of work has gone into this, particularly from Sylvia Villeneuve’s team. It was a lot work but we are delighted to share this with you! #openscience

Proud to present our latest findings on the association between vascular risk factors and longitudinal resting-state functional connectivity in StoP-AD Center! All my thanks goes to such a great team Sylvia Villeneuve, @alexa_pichetb, Jake Vogel, Pierre Meyer sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

New paper from the lab suggesting that vascular risk factors are associated with a decline in resting-state functional connectivity over time in the StoP-AD Center cohort. Vascular risk factors should really be more targeted for healthy aging and AD prevention.

Congrats to Sivaniya Subramaniapillai for acceptance of her paper “Sex differences in brain aging among adults with family history of Alzheimer’s Disease and APOE4 genetic risk” w @j_snytte in collaboration w Ross Otto Einstein Lab of Cog Neuroscience, Gender, & Health in NIMG:Clinical! Stay tuned for #openaccess link!

Our most important clinical paper so far. In the StoP-AD Center, 60% of our cognitively unimpaired participants with amyoid and tau PET binding developed MCI in ~2 years, a number that increased to 80% in those with hippocampal atrophy. The findings are replicated in 3 cohorts.

Study found that Aβ and tau PET positivity in cognitively unimpaired individuals was associated with near-term progression to mild cognitive impairment and, among those who do not show such categorical change, longitudinal cognitive decline. ja.ma/3OLjqF4

1/3 New lab paper suggesting, in 4 independent cohorts of cognitively unimpaired individuals, that the presence of both amyloid and tau-PET positivity is associated with near-term #AlzheimersDisease clinical progression. Strong support for the NIA-AA preclinical research criteria
