At 17, once home-sick, in a hostel dorm, I was sitting alone. A hostel senior, all dressed up walked up to me, noticed my moist eyes, offered no sympathy but possibly the best advice I ever got! She said, "when you feel shitty, you dress pretty" over 2 decades later, still works!
