Certain that no teacher in the entire state of NC would have ever basically cancelled class and wheeled in a cart with a TV to watch Cal v. Stanford. Mad love to the teachers that understood a Tobacco Rd. education was just as important as reading, writing and arithmetic.

It’s not the size of the farm, but the heart of the farmer that keeps them going. Not going to sugarcoat it, 2024 was a HARD year for farmers across North Carolina. But we’re out here with optimism, grit and determination to make this year better. Happy Ag Day, y’all!

Berry season is looking amazing so far!

Thank you for “Making (my) Best Better”, NC 4-H. Have tried to live the words of the 4-H pledge since my first Piney Creek Helping Hands 4-H Club meeting when I was 5. 🍀

Opening Day at the Farm!!

Getting picked out on opening day is as sweet as a honeybee on a berry basket.

Literally at a loss for words receiving the National Agricultural Alumni Development Association 2025 Volunteer Service Award. NC State - I’ll never be able to give back a fraction of what you’ve given me.

SheFarms Apex 2025 was amazing! Loved having so many learn about my farm and agriculture. My tiny farm could go away & few would miss. Lose big farms and it’s a different story. Big, small - it takes all! Ended the day at one of the farms on the tour with their wines. 🫐❤️ 💪🧑‍🌾

Half way through berry season - so many have come to the farm this year! Record pickin’ today - and this is all that was left in the field when I gleaned after closing. #RedWhiteAndBlueberry

Amazing what a year with rain will do!! Picked clean Saturday - and the canes are still loaded with more to get ripe!

Gym at 5:30 am - office until 5 - change and quick bite then pick until dark. #TisTheSeason

The 2025 berry season comes to an end. Still picking blackberries, but selling them to a local market. I ❤️ being able to share the farm with folks. It’s exhausting and rejuvenating at the same time.

My grandma was the best. This doesn’t seem real, even though I’m home for her funeral. My heart is missing a big chunk and hurts bad. 😢
