My analysis reveals that #Helene's integrated vapor transport (IVT) into western North Carolina (~3000 kg/m/s) was over 1.5 times the previous record (~1883 kg/m/s). IVT assesses the strength of atmospheric rivers. The magnitude is unprecedented for the region based on records.
