miR-29 is a driver of aging-related related phenotypes: rdcu.be/dR6ib. Pleased to share this study, which reflects a long-standing collaboration with DeshmukhLab Emilie Hollville ♻️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ and others UNC Neuroscience Center, who started the work. Thank you Praveen Sethupathy and others for this wonderful collaboration and for help us navigate aging! miR-29 continues to amaze us.

Delighted to share our most recent work on metabolic rewiring in fibrolamellar carcinoma, an early onset rare cancer. Congrats to lead author, HHMI Gilliam Fellow, the inimitable Donald Long, and all of our amazing collaborators. Thanks to the Fibrolamellar Cancer! Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine

Super grateful to receive a MIRA R35 from @NIGMS NIH to support McBride Lab Rutgers University #EMSOP Rutgers Cancer Institute over the next 5 years to advance our understanding of metabolic control of epigenetic methylation. If you are a #newPI, you should definitely consider applying for this!

Exciting work from Donald Long and Praveen Sethupathy combining proteomics and metabolomics to explore protein-metabolite links and shed light on metabolic rewiring in the rare cancer, fibrolamellar carcinoma cell.com/cell-reports-m…

Out now: A miRNA screen identifies miR-29 as a driver for aging. Science from DeshmukhLab Praveen Sethupathy Emilie Hollville ♻️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ - and handled by our board member Gracjan Michlewski doi.org/10.1038/s42003…

Congratulations to Richard Adeleke, DVM, Ph.D., a Ph.D. candidate in immunology and infectious diseases at #CornellVet, who recently received the Boehringer Ingelheim Ingelheim Research Award for Graduate Veterinarians! Read more: bi-animalhealth.com/articles/boehr…

Thanks UNC-Chapel Hill Vital Signs for highlighting this collaborative work, initiated over 12 years ago in the DeshmukhLab UNC School of Medicine! We report on a microRNA very special to us, miR-29, that drives aging related traits. In a new paper in Communications Biology, researchers have shown that a small RNA molecule drives the natural process of aging. This is the first time that miR-29 has been proven to play a direct role in the aging process. Sad to miss out on #GSTRC24 in Banff this year, but very glad that my lab members, Alexx Shumway and Mike Shanahan, got to share their work on IBD and Paneth cells, respectively! If you're there, make sure to talk to them both - they're top notch! Cornell University Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine FASEB
