Today was a fantastic day for Tennis fans (like me)! Finally saw Sinner stepping up and doing the impossible (defeating Djokovic in Australia). He's my favorite of the new crop. Later, Medvedev repeating what Rafa did to him in 2022. Days like this remind me why I love sport!

I liked one and posted one tweet about Tennis yesterday and now my "For you" timeline is 95% tennis and 100% sports. Seems like someone on Twitter eng team did their first ML tutorial recently.

Completely aligned with this take. I barely remember how to do X in git, my language of choice, etc. However, i find that it takes me O(mins) to O(hours) to figure it out. Much more important to learn how to think in terms of abstractions and also how to learn.

How is a person supposed to have an active life (lots of time outdoors) and still continue excelling in the pursuit of excellence in intellectual matters ? I am trying to live healthier, exercise more, eat better, socialise more and I have no time left at all!

It boggles my mind every time I realise just how many people I know live their whole lives, including all major life decisions, on autopilot simply copying “what’s always happened” or whatever is trending in society. Everyone is largely just a copy of everyone else.

Loved listening to Andrej Karpathy here. My only critique here is that asking Karpathy questions around timelines does not add a ton of value. Ultimately, we're asking him to do guesswork. Would much rather have him go even deeper on his brilliant understanding of the space instead!
