My hat's off to Tomer for putting this incredible resource together for #Eclipse2024 viewers in 8 days. Should be fun to follow along to see the best spot to observe the Eclipse along the path of totality (though I sadly won't be one of them).

Taking a time lapse of the onset of totality might have been one of my best calls yet. Really puts into perspective how fast the moonā€™s shadow moves through!

The path of the 2024 #TotalSolarEclipse was wider than 2017, providing longer totality. Here is a visual comparison illustrating this difference via similarly enhanced #GOESEast CONUS images for both events. Learn more on the CIMSS Satellite Blog at cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/satellite-blogā€¦

4/25 to 5/10, 2024 was a busy stretch for National Weather Service. 3859 tornado, severe, and flood watches and warnings. 267 confirmed tornadoes. Followed by a G5 geomagnetic storm, warnings by NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center prevented major impacts. All while getting ready for hurricane season and onsite for wildfires.
