Right now, while I am watching a livestream of an oversight commission meeting at which they are discussing jail deaths, the sheriff's department just posted its 28th in-custody death for this year. This time it's a 38-year-old in Men's Central Jail:

THREE people died in LASD custody this Sunday, March 30th. With 15 deaths so far in 2025, we’re outpacing the last 20 years for deaths in LA County Sheriffs custody.
