Michael Powell By what logic does the Kuminga incident justify grabbing a completely different player's legs? He did a lot last night that was beneath a great player. Twice the camera caught him derisively making the review sign at the NYK bench when he benefitted from a ticky-tack foul.

Everything is stupid. This is Sharif Suad, an Arab/Palestinian citizen of Israel, killed last night by a missile fired from Lebanon by Hezbollah while driving his truck at work. To historians he will be an asterisk. But his family will mourn for decades. And for what? For shame.

This seems like as overt a declaration of violating the First Amendment as you could possibly find. Abbott is having protesters arrested for the content of the views they are expressing.

Just an observation that if the nuttiest protestors outside of Columbia's gates yesterday didn't represent the pro-Palestinian protesters inside of them or supporters of Palestinian rights generally, then the nuttiest pro-Israel protestors outside of Columbia's gates today…

So very talented and a child-man who tossed a quarter-long tantrum that could have seriously hurt his opponents

If protesters wanted broad support, slogans like “Ceasefire Now” or “Stop the Killing” seem better than “From the River to the Sea” and “Intifada Revolution.” Those are calls for continued struggle, not peace.

This Demand not incidental: “Through bullhorns, the demonstrators demanded … restoration of Palestinian borders to what they were in 1948, before the state of Israel was established.” A call for eradication of nation of 9.5 million: washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/…

Those who mouth off like this have rarely read, say, Dialectic of Enlightenment. Or Lacan’s Écrits. Or Andrea Dworkin’s Intercourse. Or any Marx beyond the Manifesto.

You can reject these traditions in whole or part but still recognize they have important things to teach.

In which Jill Stein says that the Jewish people have a homeland in Poland and that .1 percent of Jews are Zionists.

Both absolutely false.

Poland was the country where the most Jews were murdered during the Holocaust (millions) and today Jews represent .05% of the population…

The definition of Flagrant Foul Penalty 2, per the the NBA rule book:

A Jewish college student in Georgia interviewed by the Atlanta Journal Constitution: “ I don’t believe protesters should be arrested. As much as I disagree with these people…I think in America we shouldn’t arrest people (for protesting). It’s the First Amendment.”

FIRE is deeply concerned by law enforcement actions to detain student protesters at Emory University, including the deployment of tear gas and tasers.

While colleges may restrict conduct — such as establishing encampments — that violates reasonable, viewpoint-neutral policies,…

Just watched another replay of the Embiid flagrant 1 and it is crazy he wasn't ejected. Threw what looked like 2 punches on the ground - I guess punching a leg is not Flagrant 2?

Hezbollah, a terrorist group, has killed tens of thousands of innocents in Syria. Praising them and raising their flag within the pro-Palestine movement is just another betrayal of the innocent children's blood in Gaza.
