After not tweeting fo about five years I logged in today and everything is so different,

November 9th 1841: Edward VII, the eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, was born. He gave his name to the Edwardian Age which ended with his death in May 1910

On this date in 1871 Sir Henry Morton Stanley located the missing explorer, missionary Dr. David Livingstone in Ujiji, near Lake Tanganyika, famously greeting him with the words, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?".

Armistice Day 11th November.

Russian composer, Alexander Borodin was born on this date in 1833. He was a doctor and chemist by profession and regarded medicine and science as his primary occupations, only pursuing music and composition in his spare time or when he was ill.

The storm of this date in 1901 claimed the lives of most of the crew of the Caister lifeboat who 'Never turned back'. The memorial was erected in 1903 in the grounds of the church. The RNLI closed the station in1969 but it was reopened as an independent station.

Sixty-five years ago on 14/11/1960, a little six year old girl named Ruby Bridges started school. However, Ruby was to be the first black child to be admitted to an all white school under the New Orleans Integration System.

American author, Jack London, who was born on this day in 1876 is known for such novels as The Call of the Wild and White Fang, He was also an activist for workers' rights, his non-fiction work, The People of the Abyss, exposed the terrible working conditions of the London poor.

August 29th was a significant date in the life of the lovely film star Ingrid Bergman. She was born on it in 1915 and died on it in 1982.
