This might be my favorite Criterion cover of all time oh my god

The Eyes Wide Shut Criterion cover isn't a new design. It's actually a proposal for a poster that was designed by Christiane Kubrick and Katharina Kubrick Hobbs for the original release. It was rejected in favour of a poster that more clearly showed Kidman and Cruise's faces.

The Eyes Wide Shut masks design was an early comp created by Katharina Kubrick that was rejected by the studio. Kubrick then created the purple mirror design that became the official one sheet.
