Models show deep upper level troughing entering the West Coast around 2/9-2/10 timeframe with almost all the ensemble members for the ECMWF and GFS showing light rain across the region. Given that this is still 9/10 days out, we can`t put too much stock in this just yet. #cawx

A classic cold front with diffluence aloft slamming into the state, this first system has the highest potential for generating the highest amounts of precipitation overall. The NAM showing 57-69 mph at 850mb out of the southeast creating a huge orographic component. #cawx

South Ops🔥: Rain foothill and mountains = 4 and 8 inches.  Coast & valley = 2 and 4 inches rain Mon - Wed.  Snow level 3,000 and 4,000 feet Monday evening through Wednesday.   Temperatures will cool to 10 to 20 degrees below normal Mon - Wed. Slow warming Thursday. #cawx

Fire Potential/Fuels: Windy and very dry through this weekend, but the "potential for large fire will remain very low" = high fuel moisture. Another limiting factor = high soil moisture. There will be little or no fire activity across the region Mon - end of next week. #cawx
