This week, the Office of Fire Prevention & Control staff are attending training at the Port of Albany in preparation for emergency response to railroad incidents. The training includes topics in hazmat, railroad safety, air monitoring, leak mitigation & emergency response & more.

The Coast Guard’s Rescue 21, VHF communication systems are back online throughout the Northeast. The cause of the network outage is unknown and under investigation.   VHF-FM channel 16 is the best method to communicate a distress on the water.
