WATCH👇Our CEO's take on the #KingsSpeech and what it means for #NationalTrails #connectingpeopletonature We look forward to working with Parliament to ensure that all #NationalTrails have the proper investment they need to continue to deliver for people and nature.

Great to see this find launched The National Lottery Heritage Fund but disappointing that #NationalTrails aren’t mentioned alongside #nationalparks and #nationallandscapes as key partners for nature recovery, especially as we are the designations that connect protected landscapes. We’ve had such a wild growing season this year with all the rain and now humidity. Thank goodness for the maintenance team who have been out and about making sure our Trail is accessible and won’t sting as you go past.

…and this is one of the many reasons why we need more funding for #NationalTrails with our changing weather, more cuts need to be done through the year to make sure that the high quality access is maintained.

Brendon switched off his phone and became immersed in the ancient surroundings, finding the silence, scenery and wind therapeutic. Read about Brendan Sainsbury’s journey from Avebury to Ivinghoe Beacon in June. 🥾bbc.com/travel/article…

Reading through the #NPPF out for consultation today, and while I’m mostly reading with my NationalTrails.UK focused lenses on, it is striking that all references to #beauty have been removed. Beauty might be subjective, but it is vital for quality developments. #planning Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov

Currently, National Trails only feature twice in the #NPPF; developments ‘should’ provide better links to them. #NationalTrails are used for active travel, health and well-being and nature recovery. The routes have distinctive characters which deserve to be properly protected.

Yes! Lots of great #access talk in the margins, about how we can truly makes the outdoors and NationalTrails.UK accessibly for everyone. That said, the highlight for me was when a couple of women said how much they liked my sparkly slug hair slides 😅#WomenSupportingWomen

Could be a lovely weekend activity for someone? Slow Ways are doing such a great job to highlight all those routes that help to connect our towns, cities, and great outdoors via #publicrightsofway and #NationalTrails

If you've been watching the riots with horror & wondering what you can do to make change, then here's an answer: make art, write stories, make film. Commission voices that represent all aspects of society. Offer bookdeals, greenlight stuff, and put on shows.

Saima Mir (@saimamir) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Don't pick one person and make them the messiah. Choose many. Pay them well enough to live whilst they make art. Embody respect. Know that some of these projects will fail. But all of them will change things. Maybe one life, one community, but ultimately they will change society.

Everyone should feel safe and welcome on our streets, and our National Trails. There's no place for racism in any landscape. Nature provides a space to heal and connect, and we hope that the National Trails can provide that for all💚

Lovely morning run! Slightly freaking out that it’s under a month until I do #75milesin24hours Huge thanks to everyone who has soo sponsored me, there is still time to do so! I’m raising money for NationalTrails.UK National Parks England and National Landscapes Association 👇 givestar.io/gs/75-miles-in…

Morning walk; training for my #75milesin24hours has been great for getting me back in the habit of getting out the door first thing, which can be harder when you work remotely. Lovely tour of the local fields, albeit a muggy one! #connecttonature
