Uber driver today had large ads for DiDi on the back seat. Says he will be driving for them. Presumably Uber can't stop him advertising their competitor because they insist he is an independent contractor.

Willow Jean Prime's refusal to engage in a bipartisan approach to NCEA reform with Erica Stanford stands in stark contrast to the way Chris Bishop and Kieran McAnulty are working together on infratsructure. loom.ly/1_OQJqE

Why is it beyond the capabilities of the bureaucrats who run VIP visits to organise the presser with the 2 PMs in Queenstown with a backdrop more interesting than a wall.

So while NZ "considers" the usually hardline pro-Israel Australian gvt announces its recognition of Palestine. We've come a long way (backwards) since Murray McCully was Foreign Minister. theaustralian.com.au/nation/benjami…

According to the Watson School of International and Public Affairs in Rhode Island, more journalists have been killed in Gaza than in both world wars, the Vietnam war, the wars in Yugoslavia and the war in Afghanistan combined.

More evidence that ACT is driving Luxon's stance on Palestine. Meanwhile Luxon and Peters do not appear to be on exactly the same page; loom.ly/Gp9H8mg

The Supreme Court sent a shudder thru the Gvt on Friday saying the Crown has never had ownership of riverbeds unless it specifically acquired it. The beds belong to Maori. This has implications for everything from dams to extarcting shingle. loom.ly/FS2AX-E

It looks like the paragraphs on politik.co.nz today quoting Winston Peters on Palestine have been hacked. Repairs will be made early afternoon.

Thought I might save money traveling @Jetstar but just go slugged $75!!! for cabin bag. That will teach me for abandoning @AirNZ

Winston: “We’ll set all the figures out for you later on, but the reality is, if you turn the economy around, there will not be a cost; it will actually help us make money.” loom.ly/6lBUN2c

David Seymour's climate change policy calling for NZ to leave the Paris Accord if his methane targets and removal of levies are not agreed to is a game. Cabinet already has a paper proposing this and Winston Peters says they'll agree on it today. loom.ly/rPF1Bys

Tony Wall's story was excellent, you would hope the Police had better things to do than chase him. Back in the day I wrote many a stories straight off the Police radio and the Police knew we did.nzherald.co.nz/nz/police-comm…

What I don't understand is why MFAT's 300 plus overseas-posted diplomats are not able to give Peters all the info he needs to make a decision on Palestine. One way or another.

Interesting break with Singapore by Foreign Minister. They too don't recognise but unlike them no call for Israel to return to pre-67 borders or imposition of sanctions on right wing West Bank settler orgs. Not often NZ is to the right of Singapore.

Peters case against recognising Palestine is not illogical, it was his UN speech that was different. He made no attempt to continue NZ's strong opposition to west bank settlements that McCully made a feature during our 2015-16 term on the Security Council. loom.ly/zn9xnFc

JIm Bolger will rank as one of our greatest Prime Ministers. Richard Harman reported him when he became Opposition Leader until he lost the Prime Ministership in 1998. He saw him only a few weeks ago and these are his personal thoughts on his passing loom.ly/77g6c3w
