Hey guitarists - any suggestions on a good reamp box? Most seem to be perfectly functional, but suggestions on a really good one would be appreciated. Thank you!

I may be the only person in the world disappointed that Ari Matti Mustonen and Young Jamie aka Fingers got off the topic of SM7b, preamps, Cloudlifter, and compression at the beginning of #JRE2186. I need to know what the disagreement was about.

I set out to make a short educational video on how to select a microphone, and it quickly turned into a 55 minutes over 7 videos covering different aspects of mic selection. That got out of hand fast. 2 videos per week for the next 3 - 4 weeks.

I am honored to have finally received the comment from a CEO: “Your video podcast isn’t a video podcast because there’s no RSS feed for the video. You’re just posting a youtube video.” I can finally say that I am a real podcaster now. 🤣

Has anyone else noticed an influx of “get rich quick“ nonsense being posted everywhere? Or have all the algorithms just decided to try to tell me something by surfacing this type of content?

Hey Apple I hear the new iPhone 16 has “studio grade” microphones. Wanna send one over so I can review the mics? Why not throw an iPhone in front of a guitar cab, acoustic guitar, etc.?

I'm hearing a LOT of plosives from creators who close-mic. Be sure to use a low cut filter and do a final check on bigger speakers to make sure you're providing your audience with a good sound experience. 🙏 Angling the mic off at 45 degrees to one side may also help.

Yes it can be fun, but can also help you feel less alone and more connected. People enjoy hobbies not only because the activity is enjoyable, but because it allows you to find your people; the ones who are weird like you and share the same interest as you.

Bruh. I was just told my mic comparison levels were “all over the place” & the comparison was useless. I just verified the loudness of each sample and they were within a deviation of 0.5dB (one was 1dB). Guess I’ll be more precise verifying levels in the future. Geez Louise!
