Fairly impressive atmospheric river (for this time of year in the PNW) on the way Sunday-Monday. Rain will be mostly beneficial but will make for a very wet Sunday across the region with 1"-1.5" totals in the valleys. #orwx #wawx

very abundant mountain wave activity visible on satellite this afternoon across a majority of the PNW. Caused by a strong, moist low/mid-level jet associated with the ongoing atmospheric river interacting with the terrain. #wawx #orwx

Starting to see signs of a prolonged heatwave over the PNW starting after July 4th as a huge nearly 600dm Pacific ridge sets up shop over the West coast. Some potential for triple-digit heat in the Willamette Valley next weekend if a thermal trough develops. #orwx #wawx

This prolonged heat wave now looks to continue for several more days, Latest model guidance suggests the potential for consecutive 5 days around 100 degrees at PDX. (100-degree record streak is 5 consecutive days at PDX) #orwx #wawx

Oregon: A view of a giant dust devil on the Falls Fire in Oregon, now 133,000 acres. #orfire #orex #wildfire #weather This fire is right next door to the Telephone Fire, which absolutely exploded in activity yesterday evening. Even at 2am, the sky was glowing from the fire.

Severe thunderstorm moving over the Columbia River Gorge near Carson, WA Saturday afternoon, really tough chase as it was in a very remote/forested part of the cascades… produced 50-60mph outflow winds as the shelf cloud moved over #wawx #orwx

Thunderstorm over Hood River, OR this past Saturday... you can see in this shot the 45-50mph winds ripping across the water down below generating waves. #orwx #wawx
