Speaking at Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Health today, our NI Director Niall McGonigle told committee members The Royal College of Surgeons of England has sent out an SOS for the health service in NI due to increasing workloads & workforce problems. He warned that patients are coming to harm due to long waits, as reported by BBC News NI.

We welcome this decision. Data from our membership shows surgeons and dentists need more, not less, mental health support. The wider review must ensure that any changes to the existing service are well planned and improve the mental health support provided.
