With Ampadu out for a couple of games having Longstaff to come in confirms how good our recruitment has been this summer. Could be Gruev if his fitness level is better right now but if not Longstaff is a great replacement for Ampadu.

On another note about Ampadu if he recovers quickly & remains injury free I can see him being a transfer target for quite a few teams in the next window. You could see Monday he isn’t out of place at this level.

Great start from Rhinos but a long way to go yet. HKR won’t capitulate & next try will be massive. Game on if they get it but if Rhinos get it then it’s a big task for HKR to close that game. Cracking game though.

Rhinos have been comfortable winners but they’ll be so annoyed conceding a try this late on. That said they’ve been outstanding tonight against the team who have been the best in the league this season.

If you’re having a meltdown about today you really shouldn’t & accept this will happen against top teams this ssn. Our games v the bottom half will define our ssn especially at ER, & as we saw on Monday we’re capable of winning those games?

Ok we got beat by a good side today but all 3 promoted sides already have 3 points which rarely happens these days. This won’t be the season poor teams survive simply by being better than the promoted teams?

Whatever the result on Saturday our 1st 3 games will have been against 2 teams that finished 2nd & 5th. Everton finished 13th & we proved we can compete at that level so the time to judge is after we’ve played teams likely to finish below that, not now?

Obviously I want us to win tomorrow but not that fussed if we don’t. What I’d rather see is all the new signings (or a large %) start. Perfect opportunity for them to show us what they can offer us this season??

If I was a Liverpool fan right now I’d want my manager to come out and say we didn’t play well & pinched a win & just happy getting 3 points. I think most fans are honest & enjoy hearing the manager being honest as well?

Really looking forward to Newcastle United at Elland Road on Saturday. No real hostility between the fans & both accepting the level of support. Will be a great atmosphere.
