Might be wrong but I always figured it was abandoned because they couldn’t monetize it. So to an extent, the pivot to AI makes a lot of sense. But what I don’t understand is why wouldn’t you build AI on top of Arc instead of killing it and burn burning so much goodwill

Silently, the three weeks ago, we crossed the 1000 releases threshold in the #Plone #Volto ecosystem: github.com/plone/volto/re… 🚀 A toast for 1000 more 🍻!

We gotta tune the AI hype-fluencers out of the feed. It leads devs to think there's some AI silver bullet for coding. It doesn't exist. If I just use this MCP server, or run 20 subagents across terminals, or get the perfect rule crafted, only *then* will AI suddenly work!

every person we've hired (including myself) was someone we've first had an open source relationship with if you believe you are better than the opportunities you have, this is the path if you make enough impact on a project the company will hire you

Love the real talk that dax always puts out in his brash style of keeping it real when discussing all things coding, especially when it comes to AI tooling. It's refreshing when someone comes out & flat out says look, we are flattered but the better is subjective || LLM output

🚨 UPDATE: Full Post-Mortem On Cursor Security Incident In yesterday’s thread I explained how I got drained after installing a malicious extension in Cursor. This is the deeper dive into what I found, what I did, and how you can avoid it. 🧵 👇

Who should we ask to sponsor Ladybird? We're building a truly independent browser without monetization, and putting web standards to the ultimate test: implementation! Our non-profit is looking for sponsors who want the open web to thrive. Suggestions welcome!

The worst thing about coding assistants is that they never learn. They are not junior engineers that you direct. juniors will learn. they might not learn the first time you tell them something, but I swear I have to keep teaching the AI the same thing over and over again.

I 1000% agree. It's also impossible to value pay per token when you have 20-100-200$ subs. I would much rather have a sub with limits rather then to ask a question to a file and after 3 min oh 1 mil t spend. What a rip off. Drop free & make subs sustainable.

Here's a great example from Grass Valley. They proudly talk about their fast H.264 decoder (from FFmpeg) in Linkedin marketing yet violate FFmpeg's licence and ship FFmpeg as "nonfree and unredistributable"

It's been a rough few months for me. I have now sold everything i worked on as an indie hacker/solopreneur, and it has helped me pay to keep a house over my kids' heads for this month. It's amazing what this community can do for you. People got great deals but they helped me

I don't do Software Engineering anymore. Nobody does. It's a time when the truths of Software Engineering have been cancelled. The common ground now, pushed by the ever-growing crowd of deniers, is that we no longer need to write good software. That good code has no value. That

Lol, I love everything about Aaron Francis and this was such a fun watch. I also dig CodeRabbit so you could say this is was a match made in ... reviewing heaven :))

ichim-david (@pixl_dave) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Every time I see a post from Aaron, it always fills me up with positivity despite all of the real-world issues that well all go through. I'm really happy to see both his "blackboard" that he built and the message that his Postgres course is going to be free due to sponsorship.

Although I chose higher limits but slower it would be nice to have a mode that toggles between faster requests that consume the limits quicker for when you need to get something done quicker. If this can't be done having something to use for longer trumps speed for me.
