This is the most important power story in journalism right now. The world is not burning, it is *being set on fire*. The most powerful companies in the world are putting profit over people.

Time for lights out Every business- entire sectors - that is not serving a human or societal need or actively helping scale climate solutions need to hit the off switch. Time to start transitioning those workers to the jobs of the future - if we’re gonna have one

Exclusive: The latest annual poll of Kiwi attitudes in climate change suggests we still don't understand what works to fight it. Nearly half identified recycling, which has a negligible impact on emissions, as one of the three most effective actions. newsroom.co.nz/pro/kiwis-stil…

Stop inviting fossil fuel companies to climate talks, but more than that, stop partnering with them assuming they’re acting in good faith.

I’ll be talking climate change and what it looks like in this city we love with some awesome colleagues on July 31st. We’ll talk impacts and causes, along with te ao Māori and community-led action action. Come join us!

This is the problem. Watch this clip. Watch how they laugh at people dying. We are arguing with people who have zero empathy and just don’t care. Anyone who laughs like this needs serious help.

Climate change is the quintessential ‘everything crisis.’ It’s going to hit our heads using lots of different pathways. One model that’s helpful to get our heads round the links between climate and mind is allostatic load, stress regulation; remarkably similar to climate dynamics

We found that, at the achieved rates, these countries would on average take more than 220 years to reduce their emissions by 95%, emitting 27 times their remaining 1.5C fair-shares in the process. There is nothing "green" about this. It is a recipe for disaster.

Whether it's ‘what about China?’ or the cost of living, climate action is as contested in language as any other way. We’re keen to hear a wide range of people's responses to tricky climate arguments. Pls visit our survey & RT 👇 🙏to the lovely people who've contributed so far!

In good and climate-smart communities, infill housing should bring more life to the streets, and most streets should feel like linear parks. But North American planning politics insists on putting lawns where homes should go, and cars where trees should go. Kind of a problem.
