Me and some of the team took the train down to 125th St. in Harlem to spar with my friend Coach John and his guys down at Mendez boxing. We’re both preparing for the Ringmasters which starts in two weeks so it was good work for all of us.

Be First Boxing‘s Joshua Manning Advanced to the next round of the New York metro Ringmasters tournament at Gleason’s gym in Brooklyn. Josh put on a beautiful display of Boxing using his hand speed and foot work to get in and out with combinations.

Due to a landlord who refused to deal with many issues (Constant flooding, faulty electricity, broken windows etc.) Be First Boxing is moving to a new location 1698 main St. Peekskill, NY. We are in the process of getting ready for the grand opening. 🥊

Had a nice talk with former welterweight champ Aaron Davis last night . Among other things we spoke about his fight with VINNY PAZ he said Vinny is a great guy, tough as nails and hopes that he’s doing well. I always enjoy talking with Aaron, his memory is completely intact 🥊🥊

At MSG tonight for the Zayas/Texeira fight. looking forward to seeing Shu shu Carrington, watched him spar a few times anxious to see him fight.

My good friend 5 Time Golden Glove champion Tony Bruce, invited us down to John‘s gym in the Bronx for some sparring last night. Affectionately known as “Mr. T“ Tony has been doing great work mentoring kids and turning out champions in the Bronx for over 40 years 🥊

Be First Boxing‘s Derek Pagan in the white headgear sparred 2 of our young talented kids prepping for this Saturday’s championship fight in the finals of the New York metro tournament.

Be First Boxing’s Derek Pagan scored a 2nd round TKO in the finals of the NY metro boxing tournament in Brooklyn last night (12yr-old 90lb division) Derek‘s maniacal work ethic is what sets him apart. Great to see a kid prove that hard work pays off.

A good friend of ours, Austin Cassese Is getting ready for his 2nd pro fight September 13, in Boston. Be First Boxing‘s, Josh Manning gave him 6 good rounds of sparring to help him prepare.

Beautiful day in New York, I decided to go down to the Hudson River waterfront with Cassius Clay… There is a Hispanic heritage festival going on, all the activity is a little too much for him so he’s just chilling.

I thought I was going to get an extra hours sleep this morning. Apparently Cassius doesn’t recognize daylight savings time and decided to wake me up at 6:45 AM

Remembering my dad on Veterans Day. A veteran of WWII. Served in the south pacific, Purple Heart recipient. He lived to the ripe old age of 100 and like so many others of his generation he never spoke of his combat experiences.

Took a ride up north to our sister gym in Newburgh so the little guys could get some work. Both kids technically sound with good mechanics, both already competing and winning. They treated a packed gym to a spirited sparring session.

Our friend Austin Cassese in training for his 4th Pro fight this June at the Westchester County Center. 3 of our guys including the little champ, Derek Pagán gave him a total of 10 rounds. Austin looked Sharp, we’ll all be in attendance on June 14 to support him.
