Well put by Jo Bartley. Airport shares don't 'cost' Council anything. They were gifted to Council on amalgamation. Yes, Council pays interest on borrowing. Yes, there'd be less borrowing if Council sold off all its assets. But there's no debt crisis: there's no need for this.
