The first ever female associate prof in GU and it’s 2025???! WHATTT? But also, that’s amazing! Sophia Kamran, MD is such a rockstar and totally deserves that honor!

To all of you radiation scientists planning to apply for the NIH PAIRS funding mechanism (PAR-22-198) for June 5, I just learned that it was cancelled (though the website states it is active). Bad news, but I guess now I can go drink margaritas 🍹

The great Bert van der Kogel just gave me his latest textbook! We are so lucky to have him visit monthly as an emeritus professor. My whole office fills up with students for intense radbio discussions! 🤓🧬☢️ #radbio

Amazing time at the chromosomal instability workshop (thank you The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research !). So lucky to be a part of this incredible community. The science discussed here is just 🤯.

I looked up an old paper of mine using my name and AI overview told me this: "The "PF" likely refers to post-feminist, a term related to her research on the societal and cultural context of HPV and cervical cancer". PF are my initials. AI not so smart 🤣

Want some exciting science? Come to our biology session at 2:30 (rm 155) to hear about the neuroimmune axis, KEAP1 and FANCI in radiation resistance and immune evasion after RT! 🧬 #ASTRO25 (this will be cooler than other sessions obvi)

This little scientist is sooooo happy that the first 2 plenary trials included SCIENCE and BIOLOGY and guess what? They were highly positive trials!! Using biology to inform clinical questions is the way to go. And the way to improve patient outcomes. #ASTRO25 🙌🏻

Too many mediocre men talk over capable women. Study of problem-solving teams: Men dominate the conversation, taking 50% more turns and saying 69% more than women. Men with low skill speak more than women with high skill. It's long past time to value competence over confidence.
