On Friday, our KS2 students took part in a Design Technology Day! The students were challenged to design - make - evaluate a range of specific mechanisms. Year 3 were tasked with creating a 'zones of regulation' board using levers. 🛠️

Earlier this week, it was Year 1's turn to get stuck in with some Design Technology. The students were tasked to create a story board and sliders to retell the story of the tortoise and the hare. The children loved being able to bring the story to life! 🐢🐇⚒️

In Year 1 PHSE, the current theme is 'tackling new challenges'. Last week our students created instructions and practiced the process needed to make a delicious jam sandwich. Being able to follow instructions and make basic food is a great life skill to develop! 🥪

To celebrate Energy Saving Day this year, our KS2 students were asked to consider different ways to make Pimlico Primary more eco-friendly and energy efficient. The Year 3 students produced colourful and insightful posters to stick around school, to educate their peers. 🪫🔋🪫🔋

We believe that being #energyefficent is a really important subject for all of our students to be aware of and to consider in their day to day life. During energy saving week, our Year 1 children each thought of five ways they could all save energy to help the planet! 🌍🔋

Having studied the Tempest this term, our Year 3 students were lucky enough to take part in a Shakespear workshop last week. They loved watching a short performance, creating masks and learning about the characters in more detail!

Internet Safety is a very important subject at Pimlico Primary, we educate all of our students about the potential risks of being online. To celebrate Safer Internet Day this year, we asked our pupils to create posters to enlighten others. 💻🖥️🛜

Earlier this week, our Reception students took part in a tasting session hosted by our talented Chef, Mariusz. The students tried different types of exotic fruits and were asked to identify which fruits were sweet, sour, which have seeds and what they could do with the seeds! 🍊

Last Wednesday, all our students recognised International Mother Language Day. Pupils attended school dressed in their home flag's colours or in traditional dress and then enjoyed traditional food with parents and carers, after school! 🧑‍🍳🥘

#WorldBookDay is a very important day in our school calendar, its a day full of fun and excitement, celebrating our love for books! This year, we have been so impressed by the variety of characters that passed through the school gates and makes our love for reading even stronger!

Earlier this week our Year 1 students walked to the Tate Britain to see the beautiful art work on display. All the students loved listening to Mrs Anderson explain the background to each of the paintings and were inspired to draw their own masterpiece. 🧑‍🎨🎨

March is #GenderEqualityMonth and to celebrate this important event, our Year 4 pupils were asked to create posters to educate and challenge others on gender stereotypes. We strongly believe that all of our students should have the same chances in life no matter their gender.🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

As part of #britishscienceweek2024, Year 3 Exeter had a fantastic visitor show them how to make 'Elephant's Toothpaste' in class. They revisited their knowledge of solids, liquids and gases to discuss how the reaction happened. There was lots of mess, laughter and fun! 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬🧪

At the end of last term, our Year 3 students went on a trip to the Tate. They loved recreating the artwork and interpreting the pieces in different ways. Pimlico Primary is so lucky to be within walking distance to these incredible locations. 👩‍🎨🎨

A few weeks ago, our Reception students were invited to LFB Station. They got to meet the fire fighters who showed them how to come down the pole and what the alarm sounded like. The children got to sit in a fire engine and even sprayed water with a powerful hose! 🚒🔥🧯

During British Science Week, Reception carried out two investigations. One class made shadow puppets, while the other class used their senses to describe how two apple cores changed over time. All the children found it fascinating and really enjoyed experimenting in the classroom. 🧪
