We are born to wander through sacred landscapes in search of all that is holy. An Eastbourne Camino would help.

A great narrative like Satish Kumar new book 'Pilgrimage for Peace' could only have been born by walking a long journey with purpose. In his pure and elegantly simple voice, Satish describes the glorious variety of people and cultures he meets along the 8000-mile way...

Pilgrimage is (among many things) about connecting to Land. 'Land in Our Names' (LION) is an initiative that looks at how land is often unrecognised in the structures and institutions it underpins. (They are on Instagram only) landinournames.community

Check out this multi-faceted, thoughtful film report on modern pilgrimage by Eliza Sale and Bella Soames. There are many different perspectives from all around the world covered. Thank you to both of them for the hard work they put into this 15-min film. youtube.com/watch?v=aATPK6…

I'll be leading a couple of #pilgrimage walks for Eastbourne Walking Festival this week, through the wildlife-rich #Eastbourne downland. Here's a thread on one way of making a walk in #nature a deeply spiritual experience. Awesome.

Yesterday's #pilgrimage walk from #Eastbourne's Holywell spring to Beachy Head, passing prehistoric barrows & medieval dewponds, ending up at Bomber Command Memorial, was a great success judging by deep bonding going on within our pilgrim band. Next walk on May 20th in Old Town.

Arriving in the village of Firle, Peter Owen Jones handed me a copy of his new book: Conversations with Nature. That night in Firle church, I read it 3x. It’s incredible. Get a copy here: shorturl.at/orBIM I recorded all 18 meditations as songs that night. Here is one:

The church of St Thomas Becket at Cliffe, Lewes. Legend has it that the knights who slew Becket fled from Canterbury along the #OldWay, and arrived at Lewes on their anti-pilgrimage.

Between Firle & Berwick is a church that few pilgrims visit: Alciston. It holds a deeper silence than its neighbours, which the vicar and churchwarden have recently embellished with a wonderful new ‘pilgrim bell’. Its song lasts for 2 full minutes! I couldn’t help but join in…
