I don’t think this is true. There are so many people who are super passionate working tirelessly at venues and behind the scenes doing all kinds of shit for no credit. Just Because they love music. Are there assholes around in the industry? Of course.

My first tour ever was in 2006, I remember playing at a warehouse in north philly where the toilets started flooding and overflowing with sewage because it was pouring rain. We were paid $0 and ended up siphoning gas in to our van out of an abandoned car to get to the next city.

When I was a kid, I remember watching MTV with my grandfather, and Backstreet Boys “everybody” was playing. And my grandpa said, “this is the devils music!”. It still cracks me up to think about that moment.

I’m creating a mix for a runway show for a high end brand for NYFW. It’s a fun challenge and exercise. Something I’ve never done before.
