On Saturday, I had the greatest honor of giving a TED talk in Oxford. I spoke on the topic "Breaking the cycle of hunger and malnutrition in Africa" - a speech written on my heart for many years now. It was the most incredible & humbling experience, 1

Found some bivalve shells (wording?) buried inside a piece of siltstone this weekend. #GeoTwitter #ScienceTwitter Can someone explain what’s happening here? Could these be fossils in formation?? Location: bottom of a cliff, on a beach near Santa Cruz, California.

A great opening and talk by @Sterling_Field at #ASPB2023 on the discovery of rhamnose synthesizing biocondensate. Now we need to get the paper into bioRxiv and submit to a journal !

Very proud to share our latest preprint: postdoc/LRSF fellow Yue Rui studies the mechanisms regulating attachment of the cell wall to the plasma membrane. The Cellulose Synthase Complex and REMORINs determine attachment and root osmotic stress tolerance. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
